My absolute favorite restaurant in this area! I'm gradually working my way through the menu, but I also enjoy the "specials" written on the blackboard. If you are too stuffed from the delicious food get a slice of cake or a piece of their mile-high meringue pie to go! Some favorites include the chicken tenders, turkey and dressing, and the boneless catfish. Yum! I also like that you can pick the number of sides you want, 1 - 3, depending on your budget and/or how hungry you are. Don't even try to eat here on Friday night. So many regulars stop by that you won't get a table. They do offer food to go though and always supply plenty of fresh bread and butter. Don't miss this place, they are open every day except Sunday.

Dean's has daily specials that all sound delicious. I had the turkey with gravy and was very pleased; they used a minimal amount of gravy on the turkey while still making the turkey very flavorful. The sweet potato side dish comes topped with marshmallows and had too much added sugar for me, but southerners might enjoy it. Would I recommend this? Yes, but be careful if you order anything with added sugar

It was our first time to eat here. We had meatloaf, scalloped potatoes and grilled asparagus. We did not care for the style of meatloaf they serve, but the potatoes were good and the grilled asparagus was wonderful. We also had side salads, which were soooo good too. The place appears to be squeaky clean, the portions are huge. We also had dessert, which was strawberry cake, which was nothing special. I still liked the place a lot. Though we did not love the meatloaf, we loved all the veggies. We will definately be back because I believe I will find something to love on the menu. I just gotta try more things till I do. I believe this place will become a regular place for us once we find our favorites.

Can't say enough good things about this place. Went here and was surprised at such a good restaurant in such a small town. Their pricing and menu are very simplistically. I had the cut of salmon which was excellent with three sides. The sides were fried okra, squash, and their special of the day potatoes an onions. All were excellent. The food and pricing was so good we wanted to come back the next night but they close at 8pm. Possibly the best place to eat in Oak Ridge.

Excellent food! Got the pulled pork BBQ with grilled corn and grilled yellow squash. The quality was superb! The veggies were local and fresh. The pork was well smoked, juicy, not over cooked. The corn bread was excellent. I don't have one bad thing to say. Except maybe that I was too full to try dessert!

We had a large crowd...13 adults and 3 babies...for a late lunch after hitting the Science/Energy Museum nearby. Dean's large dining room and responsive staff accommodated us easily. The food is fresh and delicious! A definite place to stop and eat whether you're a local or a tourist. The staff made a few mistakes, nothing too upsetting, but the owners personally apologized and went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. Extraordinary service, to say the least. Will definitely be back! Love the cornbread! Be sure to try their Club sandwich, chicken fingers, salmon, green beans, fries (sweet potato too). The Choc lager, carrot cake, and pies are must-haves. We bought two whole pies to take home!

Awesome place to come and enjoy a great meal. Let me just say when you come here to eat you will be glad you did. One of my favorites is the turkey and dressing. On Wednesdays they have texas style beef brisket. Very tender and tasty. They also have great desserts. At work we go there at least once a week.

Southern cooking and low prices make it crowded for dinner. 1 meat + 3 sides for $10. Daily specials and yummy deserts

Dean's did not please my group on Lavender Fest day! We had worked with management to provide dinner to some 30+ classmates. 5:30pm was suggested since they do not take reseverations. On the day of the Fest, a posting was placed on the door stating "closing at 5:30pm". Questioning on my part explained their position. They had decided to go for an early lunch schedule & were simply not able to work past 5:30pm. They denied any responsibility to serve us as had been planned for three months. I find this to be totally unprofessional. They had been consulted about the timing as late as two days before the event. We had some 30 classmates expected, therefore dissppointed. Will they come back or tell others? I don't know but since I was responsible for the arrangements, I am upset & totally disappointed. Good food at fair prices is meaningless without SERVICE. Suggest groups avoid this resturant.

Dinner did not live up its high rating. However, the desserts were amazing!!! So, I'd give the desserts 4 stars.

The pot roast and grilled salmon was amazing! I spent so much time in Oakridge I regret not finding this place sooner. Next time it will be the first stop I make.

When I came in, I had a feeling of just a ton of space. A lot of empty space. Maybe it was a lack of tables and chairs or the feeling as if I was on a dance floor or club that was changed into a restaurant. Either way, Dean's ambiance felt great and open which I guess helps with the appetite! For lunch, I ordered a turkey sandwich and got a house salad as well considering I didn't want to just have a sandwich or something else that was unhealthy for you. How was it? It was okay. Not bad, not memorable either (and this is the reasons why I take pictures of food). The bread was lightly grilled/toasted and came along with a good amount of turkey meat, tomatoes, bacon, lettuce, and topped off with I believe swiss or provolone cheese. (I'm going to guess swiss) It didn't stand out to me as a 4 star, but to me the service put it at a 4 star for me. The waiter was courteous, and even during the lunch rush, it still seemed like quite a relaxed atmosphere.

Perfect place for a home cooked meal. The wood grilled asparagus is especially delicious and each meal is served with a basket of warm rolls and cornbread. I've been here several times for lunch and I haven't had anything I didn't like. Some favorites of mine and my friends: wood grilled asparagus, wood grilled corn, pot roast, turkey and dressing, and salmon. We've also come with large groups and they've always been able to accommodate us with speedy service.

My husband and I have visited here quite a few times. He loves the Turkey and Dressing and I enjoy trying something new off the menu. I have had the salmon and pork chops they both were excellent. I have never had a problem with the service, and Deans is the only place I will drink their sweet tea. Their pies are amazing as well. If you go here, you will not be disappointed.

One of the best places to eat period. Great fresh cooked food. Smoke their own meats. Cool atmosphere. Great sweet tea. Unreal desserts and baked goods too.

This is lip smackin', foot stompin, shut the front door, don't let nobody else in gooOOooD! Great food, great prices, great service, great ice tea. And the pie, the pie. Do not try the coconut cream pie because if you do, you will just eat more and there will be less for me. Besides it will make your tongue beat your brains out trying to lick that meringue off your lips. Seriously, I eat there all the time and I have never had one bite of anything that I didn't like. So go get you some pie and don't worry about it. If you eat it all, they will make more.

Went here for lunch just the other day. Was enjoying a nice meal with my family when all of a sudden a COCKROACH, a. COCK.ROACH. climbed onto the table!!! A COCKROACH! These bugs carry diseases & they're filthy! I brought this to the server's attention who I watched them take it to the OWNER. They did nothing! They ignored the whole issue! We were so disgusted we just paid then left asap. DO NOT GO HERE!!!

We were a large group. None of us found the food good. My ribs were tough, the burgers were greasy, portion of salmon was tiny and dry. Roasted corn was excellent.

I love this place! It is food I would spend HOURS making at home on my own, but then, there it is all made for me!!!!! The prices are awesome and the portions are really good. I have tried many things on the menu, but pretty much stick to the pot roast because I can't make pot roast to save my life at home, but I love it! The vegetables are good old southern choices and so fresh. The desserts are yummy too! This is an easy place to do carry out and still get a good "home cooked" meal.

Located in historic Jackson Square, across from Blankenship Field, near The Ferrell Shop and Razzleberry's, and down the street from Big Ed's, this new (2012) restaurant has delicious food and good service. Prices are ok.

I ate here for lunch today and I thought it was great! It is southern food with a culinary twist. The salmon was tender and flavorful and the garden salad was full of many fresh ingredients.

I frequently order takeout for lunch here since close to where I work. Prices are quite reasonable and nice to get away from typical chains located in Oak Ridge. A few more seats would be nice since it is hard to wait during lunch.
